Dr. Steven Bruns
Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program
Dr. Steven Bruns is the Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program. He earned a B.A. from the University of Florida, an MDiv from ·¬ÇÑÓ°ÊÓ, an MA from St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, and a PhD from Middlesex University through the London School of Theology.
He served as the Chair of the Ministry and Theology Department and Edris & Albert Chaney Bible Lecturer at Central Christian College of Kansas. He has also taught for ·¬ÇÑÓ°ÊÓ University, Wesley Biblical Seminary, and ·¬ÇÑÓ°ÊÓ Seminary for years and taught Wesleyan Theology to clergy for the Agape Conference of the Free Methodist Church in India.
Bruns has been a pastor in the local church since 2000 and has served congregations in Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, and Mississippi. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church’s Bishop’s Task Force on Outcomes Based Ordination, a member of the Next Methodism Conference, and has served on various committees and programs for local church ministry.
Bruns has written numerous articles for both academic and popular publications. His interests are church history, worship, and communicating deep theological truths in congregational settings. Bruns is married to Pamela (MDiv ’04) and they have four children.
